Beaches

Gullane Bents
Gullane
Gullane Bents, a Blue Flag beach, is one of the best beaches in East Lothian, the bay, backed by large sand dunes, faces north-west across the Firth of Forth and sweeps round from Gullane Point to Black Rocks. Ample car parking just a few hundred yards from the beach.

Longniddry Bents
Longniddry
The beach is about 2 miles long which includes Seton Sands to the west and Gosford Bay to the east side. The area is very popular, particularly in the summer, with families, holidaymakers, walkers, horseriders, kitesurfers and sea kayaks. It is also a regular haven for bird watches due to its perfect conditions for sea and wading birds.
Access to the beach is very easy, with three car-parking areas a stones throw from the beach. The third and largest car park has fantastic views west across the bay of Edinburgh’s skyline and the Forth Bridges.

North Berwick Harbour & Beach
North Berwick
The harbour is home to the East Lothian Yacht Club, which adds character to the harbour area. Next door to the harbour is the Scottish Seabird Centre which offers a range of bird life activities that are abundant on the Bass Rock and other surrounding islands, ( Fidra, Craigleith and Lamb) which are visible offshore.
North Berwick has two bays, North Berwick Bay which lies to the west of the harbour and Milsey Bay which lies to its east. Milsey Bay offers a tide-filled swimming pool at the shore surrounded by natural rock pools.

Seacliff Beach
5 miles East of North Berwick, just South of Tantallon Castle.
This little known beach offers breathtaking views across the Firth of Forth and the Bass Rock. The beach also has an incredibly tiny harbour and you will find yourself not wanting to leave this tranquil piece of haven. The beach is privately owned therefore a small contribution of £2 will give you access to the beach.
To get to Seacliff, you need to follow the A198 from North Berwick, continue half a mile past Tantallon Castle, then at the sharp right hand bend take the private road that heads east from the Auldhame Farm. A little further on the road directs you to the left, through a barrier which you will pay your contribution. The road takes you down to car parking areas for the beach. Follow the same road when leaving and it will take you back out in a one way system.

Yellowcraig Beach
Direlton
This long sandy beach is popular with families and dog walkers. There's loads of room for the kids to run about, fly a kite or enjoy a game of football. There is also an adventure play park for children in the trees, next to the large car parking area and toilets. If you prefer to take things at a more leisurely pace, you can take a gentle stroll along the sand, taking in the great views over the Firth of Forth to Fife and the island of Fidra.
